Inspired by the Sahara Desert in Morocco, this hand-woven throw features a yellow desert background and thick navy stripes across the blanket. Large pompoms are hand-stitched on the edge of the throw. Made in the High Atlas Mountain region by artisans at Cooperative Nahda de Tissage, these throws are made with cotton and sheep wool to endure those chilly winter nights.

The Maker
We met this co-operative group in Marrakech and watched the artisans make these throws specifically for the Department of Artisans. Each artisan passionately described their design inspirations to us and we were lucky enough to see their drawings come to fruition.
